Motorhome rental company with our 'No hidden costs policy' .
Rates include:
- Unlimited mileage
- All the LPG gas used for cooking, heating and the refrigerator
- Courtesy transfers before and after hire
- 24 hour roadside assistance
- Road diesel tax
- Bedding, bath and tea towels
- Cooking and eating utensils and appliances
- Starter pack
- Maps and visitor information
- Additional drivers
- GST (12.5%)
There are no additional costs or extra charges at the end of the hire unless the vehicle or its contents is damaged or unreasonably dirty on the inside,
the fuel tank is not full on return or toilet cassette empty.

For an additional NZ$10/Day we can reserve for you a newer vehicle in any model to enjoy the added benefits of a CD player, Air
conditioned drivers cab and a vehicle no older than 18 months, Does not apply to the Eclipse 2)
Depots: We have depots in Auckland, Wellington, Picton and Christchurch.
VEHICLE SECURITY DEPOSIT
Clients are responsible for the first NZ$4,500 of vehicle damage and/or loss of the motorhome contents. This vehicle security deposit is to cover the application of an insurance excess for damage to the vehicle, third party or
property damage in the event of an accident, a bond to ensure that the vehicle is returned undamaged to the correct location, on time, refueled, in a clean and tidy condition with no missing or damaged items, emptying the waste
water and toilet and as security against any traffic infringements and associated costs. Refer to (2) below for a waiver option available for the insurance excess only.
A credit card imprint (this is an imprint only, no funds are taken from the clients account unless there is damage or loss) is required on all rental agreements
regardless of the waiver option being taken. In the absence of a credit card, Pacific Horizon requires a cash security deposit of NZ$4,500 for all rentals regardless of age. This credit card imprint or cash will be held for 21
days after the return of the motorhome.
INSURANCE
Vehicles are not hired to clients under 21 years of age
1) Standard insurance is compulsory and included in the Standard rates.
NOTE: If you are paying
for the "Exclusive Rates" $15.00 NZ a day is payable to Pacific Horizon on pick up. This insurance is fully comprehensive and insures against recoverable 3rd party accident damage, theft and break-ins (excluding
personal belongings).The standard insurance has a per incident damage excess of NZ$4,500. A credit card imprint (see Vehicle Security Clause above) is taken on the rental agreement to cover the excess. Part or the entire excess
amount is only taken if there is an accident or damage.
2) Level 2 Insurance (optional)
Note It is not available to hires under 7 days unless a 7 day minimum of NZ$133 is paid. To reduce the NZ$4,500 damage excess to
2,500 you can choose to pay a nonrefundable damage excess waiver of NZ$19 per day. This is on a per accident or incident basis not per hire. This insurance is capped at 50 days. A credit card imprint (or cash bond) is still
required to cover items other than damage as noted in the Vehicle Security Clause above.
3) Level 3 Insurance (optional)
Note this insurance is NOT available to drivers under the age of 25 or for hires under 7 days. For a
total of NZ$35 a day the excess is reduced to $250 and is on a per incident basis also. (Effective 01 May 2007 the excess is reduced to nil) This insurance is also capped at 50 days.
Long term rental discounts:
21 - 28 days rental = 3% discount
29-39 Days rental = 5% discount
40+ day = 10% discount
Airport and hotel transfers:
Our complimentary shuttle will pick you up from the airport, ferry or hotel and return you there after your hire.
One way hiring:
The depot has 4 fully operational terminals allowing one-way hire at no extra
cost. You must however start and finish your hire at whichever terminal is nominated on your rental agreement. Change of destination must be authorised bythe depot management and a relocation fee of up to NZ$750 will apply.
North and South Island Ferry Service:
Our depot is an accredited booking agent and can assist with all Interislander Ferry and Bluebridge ferry crossings
from the North and South Islands.
Hire period:
Minimum is 7 days. Collect from 800 (8:00 am) onwards on your first day of hire and return no later than 1800 in summer and 1700 in winter (6 pm summer, 5:00 pm in winter) on the last day. Days of hire are calculated on
the number of actual calendar days you have the Travelhome.
Short hires of 6 days and under are often available. Mileage is limited to 250Km per day add plus NZ$.35km thereafter. For hires less than 4 Days an
additional $50 cleaning fee will apply.
Driving your Travelhome:
The speed limit on the open road is 100 kph (60 mph). 80 kph is the recommended limit for your Travelhome. In built-up areas the limit is 50
kph (30 mph). A copy of New Zealand Traffic Rules is supplied with your vehicle. It explains the driving rules in force in New Zealand.
Driving fines:
If you are fined or penalized for breaching any traffic
laws, you are liable for the fine and associated administration costs
Cancellations:
Up to 25 days prior to pickup: No Fee
24 - 8 days prior to pickup: 20% of Gross rental
7 - 1 days prior to pickup: 50% of Gross rental
If cancelled on the day of pickup or NO SHOWS: 100% of Gross rental
No refunds are given for unused days or early returns of rental vehicles
Please Note: Our company Motorhome Rentals Worldwide charges a 3% handling fee on all cancelled bookings.
Rental Payments:
All payments will be made to Motorhome rentals Worldwide except for the Insurance
payment, this is due upon your arrival to New Zealand. Our company only accepts checks, money orders, Bank drafts and Visa or Mastercards.
Deposit on Rental: A Deposit of $400.00 USD would be needed to book/confirm your
reservation. The remaining balance is to be paid at least 30 days prior to pickup of your motorhome/campervan.
FINAL PAYMENT:
For all rentals, balance, not including insurance and/or bond is due 30 days prior to scheduled pickup. Insurance/bond
is payable at depot at time of vehicle pickup.
What you need to know about your conditions of hire. Read this carefully.
Prices may be subject to change due to factors beyond the control of the depot. Any changes in price affecting a client between the time of booking
and payment received will be advised immediately. The company takes no responsibility for any detention, delay, loss, damage or injury that a hirer might experience no matter how it is caused or by whom. The company’s rental
agreement is the sole contract for hiring the vehicle, between the company and the hirer and passenger(s). No refunds are payable on accommodation, or Travelhomes not being available, where a hirer or passenger amends,
cancels or seeks to vary agreements after departure. These conditions cannot be varied or altered or waived by any employee, agent or representative of the company or by anyone providing services or facilities. The company
cannot be bound by any representative or statement unless it is confirmed in writing by the company’s directors or management. Your travel agent will forward deposits and other payments to us on your behalf, but your travel
agent is not our agent for the purpose of the receipt of monies. The company reserves the right to provide a comparably high standard vehicle where a booked vehicle becomes unavailable through servicing or reasons beyond their
control.
